Title: Thematic Group on Rural Development and Food Security

The ACC Network affliated Group in El Salvador, known as the Comité de Desarrollo Rural (CDR), was established in 1997 as a "petit comité" for country consultants on rural development issues. The CDR subsequently grew to include other voices and other partners of society, civil society, and donors. Today, the Group is considered as a crucial partner of the Government in any rural development and food security related matters: the Group is currently supporting the organization of a civil society platform to consolidate imputs for the preparations of the World Food Summit: Five Years Later (WFS: fyl) at the national and regional level.
