FAO's Committee on Agriculture 17th Session
Government Ministers and representatives from Inter-governmental, and accredited Non-Governmental and Civil Society Organizations met in Rome from 31 March to 4 April 2003 at the 17
th Session of FAO's Committee on Agriculture (COAG).
The Committee on Agriculture reviewed and commented on FAO's programme of work for the Food and Agriculture Sector and planned activities for 2004-2009. The Committee on Agriculture also provided guidance on several selected development issues, which FAO has been actively involved in notably:
- FAO's Strategy Towards a Food Chain Approach for Food Safety and Quality
- A framework for Good Agricultural Practices
- Sustainable Rural Livelihoods
- Agricultural Environmental Information and Decision Support Tools for Sustainable Development
The Committee on Agriculture, meets every two years, and is one of eight technical Committees that assist the FAO Council with the performance of its functions.
