Peru: The Thematic Group debates agro-productive chains

Their function as a national forum to debate questions related to rural development and food security represents one of the many potentials of the thematic groups that participate in the UN System Network. This has been demonstrated over the last few years by the Peruvian experience.

The last meeting of this type organized by the Thematic Group on Development and Food Security dealt with Agro-productive Chains. Last 14 March 2001, the members of the group attended the presentations by different experts in poultry raising, pig raising and agro-productive chains from the General Management of Agricultural Promotion of the Ministry of Agriculture, as well as presentations by representatives from the Agoproductive Chains of Yellow Maize.
