Haiti reactivates its Forum for Sustainable Rural Development and Food Security
After a stage of inactivity, the Group for Food Security of Haiti resumed its meetings last June. With a new name (Forum for Sustainable Rural Development and Food Security, FODERSA), the group reconvened to participate in the Common Country Assessment (CCA) and the United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF). In fact, FODERSA succeeded in making the topic of food security and rural development one of the three core issues of the UNDAF/Haiti. One of the most important new development of the group is that it was able to add a number of donors. FODERSA will meet every six weeks. For the moment, its work agenda is composed of three major topics:
- the coffee and cacao sector in Haiti
- the river basins
- the grain sector
