Agriculture and HIV/AIDS
Numerous studies have focused on the impact of HIV/AIDS on agriculture and food security, and many figures are available concerning the health and education programmes which until now have led the fight against the disease.
This publication of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in collaboration with FAO, EASE International and the UN Office for Project Services (UNOPS) demonstrates why a multi-sectorial approach is becoming more and more necessary in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
Agriculture and HIV/AIDS
reaffirms the important role that ministries of agriculture, until now assigned a secondary position, can play in preventing and mitigating the impact of the disease. The author argues that the spread of the epidemic among the rural population is related to its vulnerability, which in turn is closely linked to failures in the field of development.
