"Nutrition: A Foundation for Development" United Nations System Standing Committee on Nutrition (SCN)

"Nutrition: A Foundation for Development", a publication recently issued by the United Nations System Standing Committee on Nutrition (SCN) presents a series of articles on the relationship between nutrition and other sectors of development, such as education, population, health, the environment, agriculture, the gender issue, and poverty. This is a series of independent essays that may be adopted as bibliographical reference among development partners.

The Standing Committee on Nutrition seeks to raise collective awareness concerning the problems of nutrition and to mobilize commitments at the regional, national and international levels. The SCN promotes collaboration between the agencies of the U N and other development organizations to support national efforts to confront the problem of malnutrition in the world.
