Three volumes on good practices in development projects

Good Practices and Innovative Experiences in the South is the three-volume collection edited by the Third World Network under the guidance and support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The collection covers practices and development experiences in the governmental sector as well as in private and social institutions, non-governmental organizations and local communities.

In 50 brief case studies the three volumes give an insight on the policies and practices adopted, the obstacles encountered and their possible replications in other countries in the effort to help disseminate the numerous experiences of development in the South.

The first volume of the collection covers areas such as economic policies and management, environmental policies and management, community based sustainable livelihoods and environmentally-sound practices and techniques. The second volume focuses on social policies, indigenous and traditional knowledge and practices and appropriate technology in development. Finally, the third volume shows the results reached by organizations in the south in areas such as citizen initiatives in social services, popular education and human rights.
