Nicaragua: The Thematic Group studies the information and monitoring systems of food security in the country
During a session of the Nicaraguan Thematic Group of Rural Development and Food Security (RDAFS) celebrated last October, many participants from governmental institutions and organizations of civil society had the opportunity of learning first-hand the advances in the design and implementation of the Information and Monitoring System of the Food and Nutrition Security in Nicaragua (SISSAN) that the FAO is supporting through the project TCP/NIC/0165 with the Agriculture and Forest Ministry (MAGFOR) and other national institutions involved in the theme, such as the
Ministry of Health, the
Ministry to Encourage Industry and Trade, the
Ministry of the Family and the
Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports.
RDAFS is also considering the possibility of updating the document on the food and nutritional situation that the group prepared in the year 2000.
